As I mentioned in my last post, we had a free weekend this weekend in which several of the students took advantage of. I also took advantage of the free time and decided to take myself to Barcelona, Spain. I have never been to Spain and had always wanted to say that I have been to Barcelona. With that being said, I booked my flight and before I knew it, I was in the heart of Barcelona looking up at what must have been the largest/tallest church that I have ever witnessed. It went by the name of La Sagrada Familia and it was an absolute wonder! After having seen that I made my Way to the Gothic Quarter where more churches and hidden alleys lined the streets. I did not encounter a single person who spoke English (luckily I took a few years of Spanish) so that was a huge obstacle for me. I have never been to a foreign country before by myself. I was super nervous, but I knew that it would be a great experience for me. I only spent that one day and night in Barcelona, however, I was ready to be back in London. I had some difficulties getting back with a delayed plane, Oyster card not working, and a few rude people along the way, but after all said and done, I would not take it back for anything. I got to see somewhere I have always wanted to go and for that I am super grateful. I am back safely in London and start my first day of my Internship this week. I a looking forward to it and can’t wait to see what the rest of the weeks have in store for me. Until next time!
