Another adventurous weekend

After working such a long and exhausting week ( I only worked 11 hours total lol) I got to end my week with a nice cool pint with my classmates. Followed up by the arrival of my parents and a weekend trip to Rome! Upon arrival to Rome, I immediately fell in love. Hands down the most architectural and beautiful place I have been to so far while ive been here in Europe. Me and my parents took what seemed like the longest and hottest tour of the Sistine chapel ever. The architecture and sculptures and paintings were more amazing than described. I had never witnessed something so breathtaking and full of history before. I was absolutely taken away. After seeing that, we had another guided tour of the Coliseum which also took my breath away. Having learned about the history and seeing it first hand, it was a very chilling and eye-opening experience for me. To think about how people were entertained by the murder of several innocent and guilty people blew my mind. It was crazy to think that people weren’t affected by such brutal events and cheered when the life of someone was taken. Definitely not a place for a picture to put on your family Christmas card. Italy was super hot and I walked probably 20 miles total, but overall it was hands down the most historical and beautiful place I have ever been to. Highly recommend going there once in your life, and if I am lucky enough I can hopefully go back for a second time! It was a weekend well spent and I was happy that my family had finally arrived and that I could spend a fun weekend with just them.
